Waiora Hub - a Community space for all

Alex Moore Park Sport and Community Inc (AMPSCI) together with Wellington City Council collaborated to build a new Sport and Community Hub Facility on the upper field at Alex Moore Park. The project has been a long time in the making, and despite a small delay caused by COVID-19, it was completed in April, 2021 and Waiora is now open.

Located on the upper field of Alex Moore Park, Waiora is a modern and unique venue available for sport, community, conferences, meetings and special events.

Starting as the clubrooms of Johnsonville Cricket, the building has undergone a complete transformation. It is now the home of several significant Wellington sporting and community clubs, and doubles as a venue for community gatherings.

It offers an open and functional range of spaces, all with exceptional light, overlooking Alex Moore Park. The building is brand new, spacious and welcoming with a modern lift and accessible facilities. Large TV Screens and high speed fibre WIFI are included on the 1st floor.
